"Thank You" has quite the soap opera story behind it haha. 2 summers ago I was studying abroad in the jungle in Zambia Africa studying the Comparative Psychology of Chimpanzees and doing Field Studies in Biology. My boyfriend and I had been dating for 3 1/2 years. I had limited internet seeing as I was living in the jungle. When I finally got an email from him 2 weeks into my trip I was ecstatic! I began to read the 1 paragraph email with no signed name at the bottom. F-words instantly started flying out of my mouth. In the first line he wrote "I have had a lot of time to think while you have been gone and actually it was cheating on you that made me realize I didn't want to be with you so I'm breaking up with you." There was no explanation or contact from him after this email. So to help me cope with this and get closure I sat on my cot, grabbed my guitar and started to write "Thank You." After getting home I found out that the girl was one of my closest friends. They are still together today. "Thank You" is my choice to move on and be the bigger person and see the positive in the situation. I mailed him a copy of the song with all his things. - Thank you Eli Dayley for the song material!
